Unknown photo?!

Mon Jun 08, 2020 11:31 am

Can anyone shed light on this photo? Cant seem to attach so i have posted a link to the page and it is the picture of byran robson and david o'leary I’m assuming it’s 92/93 season judging by the kits as these were worn in a 1-0 away win at Highbury but why would we be posing with the premier league and arsenal with the cup as neither was won at that point but both teams did go on to win those trophies that season? And if it’s from the next season (93/94) why are we in a different kit to what was worn in that season? (2-2 black away kit)

If you take a closer look at the pennant in David O'Leary's hand you'll probably notice that the picture has been taken during his testimonial having taken place on 17th May 1993. This must have been a midweek game prior to the FA Cup final as he only poses with the League Cup Arsenal also won that year.

Legend! I have now found the details thanks! I did search for his testimonial and found this

1986-08-05: Arsenal 0-2 Celtic, David O'Leary Testimonial
Match Pictures | Matches: 1986 - 1987 | 1986-87 Pictures | Friendlies - Away
Trivia
Pierce O'Leary captains Celtic on the night in his brother's testimonial. David also captains Arsenal.
8,000 Celtic fans pack in to the away end at Highbury.
Game kicked off 15 minutes late to allow travelling Celtic fans to get in.
Alan McInally was taken off only to be sent back on later to score as Celtic only had 3 subs and all were used up.
This was George Graham's first game at Highbury as Arsenal manager.

However a further search finds this! Thanks!!
