Poch out, Jose in at Spurs

Wed Nov 20, 2019 8:59 am

Thoughts?

Seems like an odd appointment to me. Jose definitely wants to prove a point, but Spurs aren't likely to let him spend much to add to the squad. Same issue as at United, although maybe not to the same degree?

the plus is that he lives in and likes London. He kept his property in London
He has got a a contract that will probably guarantee him between £15/20m
As far as i can see there has been no other "major" club in for him

The major clubs these days that are mainly trying to win things are few and far between
In England there is City,Chelsea and to a degree Leicester
All are prepared to invest what it takes to make the most of the clubs

In Spain there are only Madrid and Barca

And so on

Every other club is both England and Spain are either in survival mode like Brighton or Sheffield or are being raped and pillaged like Arsenal and United

Maybe Jose has just decided that the dollar is mightier than success

On the other side Poch can become a United target as he now ticks the main United box which is that he is cheap

Interesting

I think this will be just like Klopp, the right manager is available at the wrong time for us. Personally I would sack Ole and hire Poch tomorrow, but the club is going to a really hard time pulling that move off.

In all his time in football he has won a League Cup and got to an ECL final, does that make him better than Olé ?

Yes
With the players he had at his disposal that is the best he could achieve.

He couldn't do any better with the shower of shit he would have at his disposal at United, and as sure as eggs are eggs he wouldn't get the money to spend

And he has nothing to do with the players we have?

i dont even think this is an option. If Poch has any sense he should go to Bayern.

Manager with a good philosophy but short of transfer funds and trophies at Spurs. Will solve both of those at Bayern!

The idea that Poch has won nothing is so basic I don't know where to begin.

The club seriously fornicate up not making a move last year

The problem last year was that he was a successfull manager at Spurs
Question one-Why would you think he would have wanted to join this club? Managers speak to each other AND he can see with his own eyes the smoke and mirrors bullshit about how much is invested in this club by the owners AND he knows that Scouse Eds bullshit about "wanting to win things" is just that ie bullshit

Question 2-Do you rally think United would pay money to acquire a manager?LVG and Jose were both available for free when we got them and Ole came for the price of a bag of Smarties. That's the United way

Wayne Looney is about to go into the dugout at Derby
He couldn't have picked a better time with the club currently going nowhere and performing generally well below expectations
Give it 6 good months matched by the shit and inconsistency we are currently seeing at United and you couldn't rule out Ed Woodward bringing him back as our manager if Matt Judge confirms the Chinese market is still up for grabs
Currently the Chinese are leaving United and going to Anfield so we need to do something to keep the income high

This move still doesn't really make sense to me, I can't see Levy suddenly splashing the cash. Sacking Poch made sense in that it seemed like he would have needed to rebuild, and Levy balked at the cost of doing that. But to then bring in Jose as replacement?

It's because Jose gets the best out of players
With the likes of Kane and Son and others he already has a good squad that has just gone a bit sour.Jose will turn this lot round. He is doing so already
They won't win the league but they will be a regular top 4 club
Levy may not be a massive buyer but he is not a massive seller like another club we all know
And Levy won't try and talk Jimmy Greaves out of retirement to sell shirts and he won't interfere or take the piss out of Jose's squad
