Apparently when they sacked him, they agreed to keep paying him his £8.5million a year salary until he found another job.

The money in football nowadays is farcical, you have to wonder who would agree to carry on paying someone until they got another job, especially £8m a year.
Simple math says he's not going to accept a job on less money than that !
