Most of the odds are favouring a draw, a Utd win is 11/10 against, whilst a Chelsea win is 5/2 on, s where the fornicate do you get a 3-0 win from ?

I just can't see that many goals from that team you've put up !

It's the first game and Chelski will lose this one. Let's just wait till Sunday. The team is not as bad as the pundits make us out to be.

BTW that James kid is a talent. How can we be against. We beaten Chelski in the FA Cup but I doubt we'll lose.

When we played Spurs in a friendly it was a full blooded game. Sunday is when the premier begins.

But still convinced we are going to be stronger than last season

Hat trick from every striker, and own half strike from De Gea,

To be fair there is no result that would surprise me
Without Hazard Chelsea are not the team they were.
Their defence is weak so they could leak goals.
Our first X1 is not that bad.United's problems will come when Rashford or Martial get a knock or a strain. There is simply nobody to replace them

As for James being a talent.
Just not true
He is a fast raw kid who so far has shown he can't cross a ball
That may improve and also his pace is no good when he plays against a seasoned defender who understands you can only run fast with two legs on the ground
If one has been kicked out from under him he won't be as fast
This is the Premier League and not 16 year olds at Perth Glory
But it doesn't matter coz he won't start today

Having seen our line-up (no chuckle bros, no Matic, Greenwood on bench) and their line up (uninspiring) - I actually quite fancy our chances today!

HT 1-0

Got absoultely outplayed in that half. The positives are Chelsea dont have a finisher and our defence looks a lot more solid. Maguire added presence and AWB won 100% of his challenges!

Midfield getting played around and the front 3 cant keep the ball and look like they've just met for the first time!

4-0 LOL
Strange game, but a sign of how I think Ole is going to set up. Now look solid at the back [would still like to see a Jorginho/Kante/Fernandinho type of player there ], then we are attacking with speed and purpose on the break. However we wont be able to do that against the lesser teams, so he will need a Plan B.

Delighted with the debutants - Maguire gave great composure and assurance, AWB won everything and James looked lively when he came on [bit lucky with his goal but loved the celebration]

I got 1 goal wrong. 2nd half was better. Pogba assisted in 2 goals. But 2nd half we were better. I thought we were a bit better in defense.

But we could have conceded as well I think Harry did OK.

We will improve was a good game.

We are faster and look deadly on the counter with the pace. Our pace is devastating.

Of coz I knew once we scored first we will get better whigh we did.

The high press. Problem is we have two strikers who love touching the left with wing.

But they do interchange well.

Chelsea dominated most of the first half, but we took them apart in the second. We were very good on the counter attack, very pacey going forward. Maguire looked solid in the back and Wan Bissaka was awesome, I think we got a hell of a player with him.

AWB and Maguire actually make you realise just for how long we accepted mediocrity.

Proper United players, proper United performance

I think all of the summaries have got it spot on

My initial prediction was also spot on
Chelsea have a very poor defence and with the transfer embargo face a very long season
They are no longer a top side.
Like United they have not replaced a key player in Eden Hazard who was almost a one man team
The other key player Kante was just not fit
And yet they still dominated up to United scoring.
We could/should have been 3-1 down at half time so please don't think this was a quality performance
The two new players had dream debuts and i applaud them
Shaw looked a bit short at left back.He appeared to be getting no help from midfield

MacTominay was very average both going forward and getting back and tackling
Same comment with Periera which was why we were overun in midfield in the first half
Jesse did his headless chicken act and Pogba was mostly anonymous in the first half
Up front Martial and Rashford looked like they had never played together and often chased down the same channel
The biggest threat up front for us was Maguire who looks very strong at both ends

The second half changed because Pogba woke up and started spraying quality passes
Rashford and Martial ran different channels and gave Pogba more options
As predicted when James came on he had the shit kicked out of him
It won't go unnoticed by hardened professionals that he was slow to get up after being kicked by Kante

What we learned
1 We have two very strong defenders and the entire defence will get better as it learns how to play with each other
2 The midfield is very very weak and if the rumours that Pogba is still vulnerable to a transfer we will be in real trouble
3 Martial and Rashford will also get better

Shaw was being overwhelmed with 2 V 1 on the overlap because Rashford wasn't tracking back, that was put right and Chelsea had less going forward when we reverted to 4-4-2.
4-3-3 doesn't seem to work for us, we wre a lot more efficient with 4 in midfield.

James was fine, the rule now is to stay down until you are sure you can get up, Kante is an arse, the tackle was a red, Taylor went soft on him

Great result, great second half, but... we were lucky, very lucky in the first half..
had they scored first it could've been a totally different game and and the post-match discussion could've been all doom & gloom.

This is how delicate the balance between a "bad" & a "good" game is. I'm not talking about a performance or a result, because obviously the result is beyond fantastic, and the performance that resulted in 4 goals and a clean sheet should not be criticized.
And yet, there's this feeling of uncertainty & vulnerability.. We're a better team than last year but still NOT good enough.
It will be a rollercoaster ride this season. There will be some exciting performances and some disappointments. I think top 4 is a realistic target. My concern is with the domestic cups & europa league. We don't have the debt to fight on all fronts, so the club would have to manage the priorities very carefully. ..

4-2-3-1- with Mctominay and Fred, then Pogba, Sanchez, Martial and Rashford. I think we'll dominate most teams. A little lucky the weekend but who cares, we bagged 3 points.

I'd rather pick Fergie than Sanchez.

I think we going to see a resurgence, I have sneaky suspicion the real Sanchez is gonna stand up, if he's not loaned out that is!

I would love to be proven wrong, but I doubt Sanchez will ever reach double figures as a United player. He's done, and I'd even let City have him.
