Hernandez 1-1 after a crap clearance by DDG
Anderson scored and it had nothing to do with DDG's clearance. Rojo lost his man. Agree with just about everything else.

RED3Button

Maybe so.
That was my impression at the time, and the commentators,
But I would have to see it again to be sure either way.

It certainly was not a great clearance by DDG though.

Total shit

West Ham were poor and gave the ball away almost every time they got it and we were worse

The 2-1 result was a travesty as they were the better of two shit teams
This is desperate and getting worse
The only two players in United's team with quality were DDG ad Pogba and they both want off
The only player in the West Ham team was Rice who is rumoured to be a United target
Probably sell Pogba for £100m and buy rice for £35m
Glazernomics

Onto the team
DDG-great save to keep us in the game
Dalot-Shit-Can'r defend and can't cross when we are on the attack
Smalling and Jones-Shit and constantly missing
Rojo_as anticipated he got a game. Not at the races. The only thing you can do is say it was his first game in a long time

pogba-Class.Played them by himself
Fred-total shit,Gave the ball away every time.Watford quality player
Mata-Has mentally left already
Lingaard-Didn't have a clue what to do

Rahford-Can't play a solo striker game
Lukaku-Total embarrasment

So is it Ole's fault yet or is it still Jose's

This team needs 10 players and half a billion spending on it

No fornicating chance

Roll on the Australia tour

Red & Dave...if you get a chance take a look at it again.
Yes it was poor placement by DDG when he threw the ball out but we had enough back that we should have dealt with it.
And yes Anderson coming in would normally have been Rojo's responsibility but I think it would be hard to blame him because Jones and Smalling pretty much left him hanging.
They both ignored Chicharito and he was in behind them both, leaving Roja to cover both Chicharito and Anderson.
In that situation and with a cross coming in, I can't blame him for probably focusing on Chicharito who in a situation like that would be considered the greater danger.
When you watch it look at where Chicharito was and I think you'll see what I mean.

As for the game....we got lucky and as we already knew, Ole has a lot of work to do.
We gave West Ham all the time they wanted on the ball with only Fred really trying to press them when they were in possession and almost every one of our attacks broke down due to poor passing or even worse crossing.

As usual Ole's post match analysis of the game was so dispassionate and accurate that there is little more to be added.

He took an hour before the presser to digest what he had seen, then was unsparing although not personally attacking any players:
https://www.skysports.com/football/news ... -a-concern

The commentary in the article is also spot on, IMO:

'Solskjaer speaks of his team not being clinical enough but it is a lack of creativity in their play that is hampering them at the moment too.'

'Of course, this is an issue that Solskjaer has inherited. He does not have a squad of players set up to control matches, he has a group that can play reactive football. Solskjaer has done well to utilise the ample pace in this team but if he is really going to overhaul the style of play at United and turn them into a team that can dominate, it will require major surgery.

Lingard has energy without the ball but lacks precision with it. Anthony Martial twice gifted the ball back to West Ham with what should have been straightforward passes. Fred and Juan Mata did attempt some through-balls but couldn't pick the lock. Worryingly, it was left to Chris Smalling to thread the ball through for Rashford's chance just before the hour.'

'Solskjaer picked an attacking line-up against West Ham but while he was impressed with Fred and Pogba's performances on the ball he was forced to admit that United looked "too open in midfield" and only gained a modicum of control in the latter stages once they reverted to the tried and trusted method of defending deeper.'

We should remember though that when Ole took over we were way off the CL places, and he has dragged us up to contention for them.

The more limited we feel that this group of players is, the greater that achievement.

Of course. we could always sack Ole and have Joey Barton instead! :-)

So was Ole being positive or negative?

If he was being negative then there is no place for him on this forum where only "getting behind the team is admired"
He basically summed it up by saying we were rubbish and got out of jail which we did

On MOTD they were commenting on how many players United threw forward in the attack, especially early on.

Can't fault Ole for attacking intent, but the players did not perform well enough.

It was especially brave with makeshift backs.

It could be attacking intent because West Ham are poor and have given up on most games in the last month because they are safe in the Premier league
They have almost nothing up front. It did amuse me that the little pea is no longer little. He is now quite chunky in fact.Should his nickname now be marrowfat pea

Cpuld be that Ole did not trust his defence
Many commentators, with more technical knowledge have been saying that the United defence is total shit but they have been getting bailed out by the number of goals scored against us at home
The only clean sheet we have had at home since November when Ole played a flat back 10 against Liverpool
Most people, this forum members included are looking forward to a serious defensive clearout and acquisitions this summer. He will of course be backed by Ed Woodward and Matt Judge

When you actually break it down it is not just the defense
Half the midfield has already left the club mentally and what is left ie Fred and Lingaard are just squad players for a decent team
That said Fellaini,Carrick,Mata,Herrara and probably Pogba are all going to be replaced by Ed Woodward and Matt Judge

Rebuild with 4 or 5 players, how quick that happens it's up to how much they want to spend on the right players.

You can't go play the Ole way he needs to. Scout the correct. Players.
