Anderson scored and it had nothing to do with DDG's clearance. Rojo lost his man. Agree with just about everything else.
Red & Dave...if you get a chance take a look at it again.
Apart from all of the above which is correct we played quite wellDevil Pikney wrote: ↑Sat Apr 13, 2019 11:51 pmRed & Dave...if you get a chance take a look at it again.
Yes it was poor placement by DDG when he threw the ball out but we had enough back that we should have dealt with it.
And yes Anderson coming in would normally have been Rojo's responsibility but I think it would be hard to blame him because Jones and Smalling pretty much left him hanging.
They both ignored Chicharito and he was in behind them both, leaving Roja to cover both Chicharito and Anderson.
In that situation and with a cross coming in, I can't blame him for probably focusing on Chicharito who in a situation like that would be considered the greater danger.
When you watch it look at where Chicharito was and I think you'll see what I mean.
As for the game....we got lucky and as we already knew, Ole has a lot of work to do.
We gave West Ham all the time they wanted on the ball with only Fred really trying to press them when they were in possession and almost every one of our attacks broke down due to poor passing or even worse crossing.
It could be attacking intent because West Ham are poor and have given up on most games in the last month because they are safe in the Premier league
Rebuild with 4 or 5 players, how quick that happens it's up to how much they want to spend on the right players.
