Looking at our fixtures and the group I don't hink there is any way we can top the group, in fact we will struggle to come second. On form we have a possible 4 more points, Valencia I think will overtake us.
We really need to win this, but a great effort is needed, and I don't see that in this squad.

I'm not even sure who I would pick ?
For me the only definites would be De Gea, Mata and Herrera.

You just worked out we are not good enough to top the group?

What difference where we finish
We aren't going to win the Champions league and most genuine fans and indeed all the tourists and pilgrims don't fancy a Russian European satellite country on a Thursday night
Only winners would be the owners if we get extra TV money

I bet people avoid you at parties ? you are capable of turning the Rio carnival into a wake FFS.
We weren't going to win the CL in 1999, and we certainly weren't in 2008, in fact it never looked like we would at times, but we did.
However with this current squad and tactics we have no chance in hell, we don't have any hope of winning it.
Your personal insults and snide remarks are startting to piss me off, it's no wonder this board is so quiet.
You run every one down who supports, goes to games, and operates in the club, you are so full of shit it's untrue, you slag off the Glazers, ownetrs who have spent near on a billion on players, simply because they take money from the club, well fornicate wake up, so did every previous owner ! It's not the Glazers you don't like, it's because they are American, that is what you don't like.
The Glazers didn't get thei money by being idiots and not being good businessmen, they did it by knowing about the legal way to get tax breaks, how to avoid taxes etc, and don't get holier than thou,if you could do it you would.

You love the Daily Fail so much try reading this article:

Jose Mourinho cannot say he has not been backed, regardless of this summer's complaints. The accusation that money is being held back is not valid.

Whether it is being spent wisely is another matter.

Unquote

People like you claim the Glazerrs have no interest in the club, apart from it being a cash cow, totally wrong, the club has been more successful under their tenure than under any other, the club has had more money invested in the ground and it's facilities under their tenure, and that includes the modernisation for the Euro's and the WC in 1966 ! than at any other time.
It was claimed the Glazers had no interest in Tampa Bay, but they invested $150m in the stadium, they also set up numerous community schemes under the Tampa Bay name. They have done the same in Manchester, but don't brag about it, they actively encourage players to visit schools, childrens hospitals and hospices, you think all that happens without thier say so ?
Like all owners they take from the club, they are entitled to do it.

Proudest I've been of this team in a long time and not just because we won a match that even a lot of our own fans had already written off our chances in. They made mistakes but the team played with a heart and determination that has been lacking and it didn't stop after Juve scored.
It won't take away the deficiencies in the team but it it sure helps to see the effort being put in by the players as a team

Yes Juve should've buried us, but fornicate what a result. 2-1 in Turin, that's huge any way you look at it.

Mata continues to deliver for a succession of managers who don't trust him.

We need to follow this up though, if an away win cant revitalise this club, nothing will. We usually follow these huge results with a disaster

Anybody want to give the manager ANY credit for yet another brilliant tactical display playing to our strengths and superbly times substitutions AGAIN

Let's hope Lukaku the lampost is still injured for Saturday

Oh get out of his arse will you, the team were inept and useless. our 'win' was almost as embarrassing as Sterlings penalty award.
We were out played, outclassed and out gunned for the whole of the game, until José had to do something, so he chucks on lampost #1 and a player who should have been there from the start, and we get a goal, a (very) lucky goal
The winner was absurd, I was listening to the R5 commentary ( I can't stand the commentators on BT), they took about 3 mins to decide who actually scored the own goal, it was laughable.
And then the prick from Portugal decides to walk on the pitch and wind up the Juvé fans, and had to be escorted off the pitch by his backroom staff.
Pogba spent all match sucking up to his ex-team mates and was practically invisible, Smalling gave glimpses of what a real centre half should be like. Lindelhoff hada decent game in a United shirt ( at last), Martial didn't realise he was in a football game until the 80th minute, then woke up. Lingard didn't live up to his hype and was easily closed down by a good full back, I could go on, but you are still probably pleasuring yourself over this false dawn.
In the meantime City warmed up for Saturday by scoring six, be afraid, be very afraid

FFS.Give you bad judgement a total rest
Does nothing make you happy
You clearly don't know what the game of football is about
I never said we would win against City but you cannot knock the team for doing something that NO OTHER team has done this year against Juventus

You have already shown how confused your judgement is by explaining in an earlier post how good and generous the owners are by explaining how much they have put into Manchester United,Tampa Bay Buccs and charities
You really need to be very careful what you put up your arse as you are completely confused between the difference between putting in and taking out
This football team is much better off when you are sat with the "other" set of fans, still presumably moaning about Jose

Goal #1 : Two complete miss kicks after a corner got half cleared

Goal #2 : Back post flick after near post header from a corner

Both from set pieces. First incredibly lucky. Second fairly lucky.

Matas free kick was not luck. It was a magic free kick.
