Not looking forward to this one bit. Surely we won't lose 4 in a row?

Like Talking Vulture.......im not looking forward to this. After liverpool's defeat to Hull last week, 4th Spot was done and dusted and just needed to be confirmed on saturday against West Brom. That wasnt meant to be.

We have hit a brick wall after a decent run and have 3 tricky fixtures to secure a top 4. Palace away from home is tough and not the ideal place you want to travel to after a bad few weeks.

We must get top 4. The players and the manager have to find a way.

Liverpool are up against Chelsea away from home.......any other time of the year i would beat on a chelsea victory but how hard are they going to play having won the title already.

A defeat here and we could be down to one point with 2 games to play come sunday evening. We must win but i am not confident in the slightest

i dont know what result to expect from this given carrick will most likely not feature again. if dear mr rooney has to give another impassioned speech (since we arent playing everton or poohs) then he jolly well get his speech ready.

A real concern with Palace is that they have lots and lots of speed and we have shown many times that this is something we have had all type of pproblem with.

Still I see us winning this 3 - 1.

Carrick is out for the rest of the season - a big blow that.

We need to dig deep, come sunday evening we could be in the champions league next season - we need to put that pressure on Liverpool.

The player who with the possible exception of DDG we can least afford to lose as he is the only one who can make our midfield work.

Is God a Liverpool supporter? :(

well, we were lucky in winter...

a good test, let's see if we really deserve to play in UCL
I mean: you can't expect Carrick to play all matches in UCL, EPL, FA, and the cup again, he's 33 now...
we get through this, then we can really say we have a chance in UCL next season

oh yes, should LvG wants to keep playing Rooney in midfield, then I say this match is also a good chance for Wilson to win the starting striker spot
we've tried all our strikers except him, none scores those goals that LvG wants

If God was a Liverpool supporter Gerrard would have been given better balance.

it is possible, but with UCL spot at risk. We can't start Wilson to prove his worth. he can play in the last 20 or so minutes and make an impact but starting him off. it is a big risk.

Maybe God knows that Stevie is a Red Devil at heart. If so, we should be aware of the Pooh from now on since he's retiring.

I'm not looking forward to watching Blind make a mistake as Palace score on a counter.

yeah, but do we have a choice? [strike](in exception of not playing Rooney in midfield, of course, but then again LvG seems to be consistent in his opinion about that and about playing Fellaini upfront)[/strike]
Falcao? I'm tired
RvP? well... worth another shot, actually

last 20 minutes would make that a useless subtitution, I think. Not many people are as lucky as Harry Kane this season.
for me, it would be better not to play him at all, if that's the case.
though I hope that Wilson has that luck this time and proves me wrong.

last 20 minute substitution? so the likes of Macheda back then? when he was a good uprising striker from the reserves? why not make him an impact sub for a young player. rather start him, which a young player doesn't have that much of a stamina (just generalizing on young players) and fading off during the closing minutes.

Lets hope LVG can finally come up with a Plan B.
Here is an analysis of why we simply don't work without Carrick to threaten long passes to Fellaini, which opens up the room for other threats as they try to stop that one:

well, it's just my opinion
LvG wants that final magical touch to complete the system he has made,
if he does not dare to gamble on his tactics, he won't find one

btw, I think we've seen LvG do that (use Wilson as a later stage sub) a number of times this season
not many successes, mostly because our creativity in those games where he was used as a sub were lacking

ps.: wait, is it just me or I'm reading your first reply post wrongly?
you're the one to said 20 minutes or so, right? I feel a little confused now....
