No matter how Van Gaal tries to paint this one the game was lost at the half with the subs.

A simple answer to my own questiom. Not after this match. I can see this team going places. Give him till next season. I think we will challenge next season for the league with a couple more signings

Was the team noticeably worse in the second half, honestly?

I think we were marginally worse. Wouldnt have been an issue had Valencia not gifted them the win though. Like I said before, individual errors cost us. Not tactics or changes

haven't watched the match so i can't agree or disagree. but we all know Valencia has a tendency to have those kind of errors as an RB. This is even before LVG and even during SAF's time.

We all know that Rafael can also commit those errors but if we are not playing the actual players on their position shit happens most of the time. But still LVG would pick Valencia over Rafael. same with Fellaini as no. 10 over Mata.

and just bench an overpaid loanee all the time.

i don't have any specific match or error at the moment. but back on the SAF days when Valencia was a makeshift RB, Valencia had defending issues that he had those mistakes.

He actually passed back again forcing De Gea to rush out.

Key word was another. We all saw the backpass.

So how can you say 'we all know Valencia has a tendancy to thise kinds of errors' when you cant remember a single other one he has made. I can think of loads of fornicate ups for Rafael, but Valencia is 99 times out of 100 solid as a rock. This is the first error I can recall from him.

I said again. He did it again but de Gea managed to clear it.

Not bring able to recall specifics is not the same as it not happening. I can't give you specifics for the ninja turtle, but I know they happened.

I thought we were very static and predictable in the second half. The bonehead play didn't help any either.

http://eplindex.com/25225/antonio-valen ... -form.html
The former Wigan man’s lack of involvement in tackles might be because last year he was often deployed as a full-back, but the decline has been significant, even though he has played this season predominantly as a winger.

His ability to win 50-50 grand challenges have also declined from 49% to 42%, although like the past season, Valencia has only committed one defensive error.
Article posted in 2013 that Valencia has one defensive error too. so that would be two for the past couple of years. :)

i can't find specific archived that we whine where Valencia is piss poor at RB even during SAF's era. So i mean, a defensive mistake from a makeshift RB like Valencia can happen.
We all know he is ahead of Rafael in the pecking order for LVG. But Rafael - Valencia at the right flank when on form is our one of the best lethal combo's attacking wise.

off topic since this thread is about the LVG and his Philosopher's Stone.

I thought he gave a very good interview yesterday. It doesn't sound promising at all for Falcao though.

really a good article. hope journalists try to create more positive articles for the managers rather than trying to add up all the negativity and pressure the manager even more and get the boot even after a few months at the position.

back on LVG, his tactics, formation, starting XI would be key against Liverpool hope he would play his cards right.
