Racism in the media

Fri Jun 15, 2018 9:59 pm

Reporting on the recent Oxford grooming gang case has been pitiful to say the least, what is wrong with the British media, only two mainstream media sources were actually brave enough to report the mens countries of origin, The Guardian and the The Indepentdent, the rest of them referred to the gang as 'Asian' which in my mind is quite a big net to cast.

You can bet your life that had they been British and white, not only would their towns of birth be named, but also interviews with neighbours, school teachers and anyone else who may have been connected with them.

Why are most of the British media scared to say that the men in the Oxford case were of Pakistani and Kashmiri origin ?

If only there was some guy going around trying to cover the fact the "real" media is hiding this stuff. Of course if such a guy existed it would require the British public stand up for him it he was poorly treated just for trying to expose the truth and make his country safer. It's a damn shame such a guy doesn't exist.

If that guy did exist, he'd probably have zero understanding of the law and the justice system and get himself rightly locked up. This is actually a perfect example of what Robinson doesn't understand. We had 2 related trials, which now everything has been concluded the media are reporting. If they're trying to hide anything, then the BBC, Guardian, Independent, Mail, Express, The Sun Talk Radio, Oxford Mail and the Crown Prosecution Service seem to be doing a terrible job of hiding it.

Sigmar, in common parlance in the UK ,"Asian" would typically refer to someone from the Indian subcontinent. If those involved are as you suggest from multiple countries it seems perfectly reasonable to use "Asian". If they are from Britain, but of Pakistani/Kashmir descent, again, using "Asian" makes perfect sense. Also, several places did use the name/age/address in their reports.

I do enjoy the idea that the Mail would be scared to print that like.
